Beach Party Time!

Our Hawaiian Beach Party was not only well attended but parents reported that it was a huge success. Children, parents and volunteers all dressed for the part and the sand, sea, shells and windmill making was enjoyed by everyone.

It’s often a village affair and this was no different with our own Alison Hunt leading the Storytime before our good-bye song, Barbara’s wonderful large shells (saved over many weeks from M&S where else?!) provided a fabulous base for our mustard & cress sowing.

Group-1

Castle Small Puppets entertained us with a beach show, which included a princess, knight and dragon non-scary! You can see the children were enchanted by the puppets. We had a shared picnic with plenty of sandwiches, sausages and snacks and in the background we had music from The Beach Boys – we look forward to another special event next year!

Forthcoming attractions…..

By the time you read this the year will be coming to a close, we have had another really enjoyable time meeting lots of new children from Harbury and the surrounding area, plus many of our lovely familiar faces. We have watched them grow in size and confidence developing new skills and new friends. We have welcomed two new babies Elliot, brother to Florance and Monty and also William, brother to Amber. We are privileged and blessed to share part of their journey and hope we have managed to facilitate some new and lasting freindships for parents as well as the children.

The new Calendar for 2018 is in progress but we still have a few more things to look forward to this year including:
A trip through the Magic Door to visit John or Sue our friendly Librarians….Christmas Art and Craft by Aimee …. Our Christmas Party at the Tom Hauley Room on 18th December, hopefully with special guest!

The Christmas Art and Craft will be Aimee’s last art activity as she is now developing her wonderful Mentoring Service for parents caring for a child or young person with a disability which we are so pleased to be supporting. Thank you for your help Aimee and we’ll continue to look forward to seeing you with Jago at our weekly sessions. If there are any other parents who would like to do the activity from time to time please do let us know, we do appreciate it and know there are many many skills within the group.

I take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us during the year, especially Selina, Reg and Chelly without whom I would not be able to run the group. There are so many who have contributed, indeed too many to list. I always include their names in our regular articles but THANK YOU ALL !!!!!

Happy Christmas from all of us xxxxxx
